INITIAL GLIMPSE: DESERT FDE HELLCAT PRO THREADED

Introducing the latest addition to Springfield’s Hellcat Pro lineup, featuring a Desert FDE color scheme and an integrated threaded barrel for seamless suppressor or muzzle device attachment. In addition to its distinctive tan finish, this firearm upholds the cherished features that Hellcat Pro enthusiasts admire, including the option to affix a flashlight or laser to the accessory rail, its exceptional grip texture, and the capacity for direct optics mounting on the slide. Delve into the comprehensive insights of this new 9mm pistol model, as presented by firearms expert Scott Conditt.

Ever since the debut of the Hellcat line of pistols in 2019, it has earned numerous accolades, solidifying its position as one of the most decorated handguns in its category. Throughout the past few years, the lineup has witnessed several evolutions and the introduction of new options. The latest enhancement came in the form of the Hellcat Pro series, which extended both barrel length and grip frame length, and subsequently incorporated the choice of a threaded barrel.

As my daily carry, I rely on the Hellcat Pro, and I take every opportunity to indulge in suppressed shooting. Hence, this variant held a special allure for me, and I’ve thoroughly relished my range sessions with it.

While a pistol’s finish doesn’t affect its mechanical functionality or performance, it can indeed influence the choice of a firearm for particular settings. Moreover, it undeniably factors into one’s personal taste and preference.

For all you devoted Desert FDE enthusiasts, get ready, because the Hellcat Pro OSP 9mm with a threaded barrel is now available in the beloved color you cherish.

The Evolution of The Hellcat

The Hellcat Pro fulfilled my long-held desires within the Hellcat lineup: enhanced capacity, a lengthier grip, and an extended barrel. Transitioning from the standard Hellcat to the Hellcat Pro left me thoroughly content with the change.

While I still hold a strong appreciation for the standard Hellcat model, with its well-crafted design and exceptionally compact size, the added round capacity is a noteworthy advantage. With 15 rounds using the flush fit magazine and 17 rounds with the included extended magazine, it offers a considerable advantage. The slightly larger frame of the Hellcat Pro also enhances my overall handling and control for everyday carry. The Hellcat Pro truly ticks all the boxes for me.

Upon hearing the news of the threaded barrel variant of the Hellcat Pro, I was thrilled by the prospect of equipping a suppressor or a compatible compensator. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that this particular Hellcat Pro model is now available in Desert FDE, one of my personal favorite color options.

Every cherished feature that has won our affection remains unchanged in this firearm, including the robust hammer-forged steel barrel, measuring 4.4 inches and equipped with a threaded section (1/2×28) at the muzzle. It boasts a durable Melonite finish and a 1:10 twist.

I couldn’t wait to test the firearm with a suppressor at my preferred outdoor range in Arizona. Attaching the JK Armament CCX compact suppressor to the Hellcat Pro was a seamless and aesthetically pleasing process, requiring just a simple twist to securely affix it. The installation was remarkably straightforward and swift.

The 1/2×28 threads provide compatibility with a diverse selection of suppressors, and I can’t emphasize enough the pleasure I derive from shooting a suppressed 9mm. When the impact of the round striking steel becomes more audible than the shot itself, it’s a clear victory in my opinion and a delightful auditory experience.

As long as your suppressor’s threading and caliber rating align, the Hellcat Pro’s threads will seamlessly complement both dedicated 9mm-specific suppressors and those compatible with multiple calibers. It’s a valuable option for those with a variety of suppressors in their arsenal, providing flexibility and versatility in their selection.
